In its context of operation the Laboratory operates a library of scientific journals, books and dissertations exclusively in the field of Transport.

During its first decade of operation the Laboratory organised a series of annual seminars in the field of transport, while subsequently it organised a number of international conferences and meetings on transport research. In 1997 the Laboratory in collaboration with three corresponding institutions in countries of Southeast Europe founded the South East European Transport Research Forum (SETREF).
